First Chapter Meeting of the School Year is Monday!
(08/19/2010)The Lawrenceville FFA will have its first chapter meeting of the year on Monday, August 23rd at 6:30PM in the Ag. Room. All members should attend! We also encourage anyone and everyone who would like become involved with the FFA organization to come to the meeting! Pizza will be provided! =) If you have any questions at all, please ask Alex Mahrenholz or any member of the officer team!

(06/30/2010)The Lawrenceville FFA chapter will have an Chapter Meeting on Wednesday, July 14th at 4:00pm in the Ag. Room at LHS with chapter officers needing to arrive at 2:30pm. We have plenty to discuss so we need as many members as possible to attend. On the agenda includes past business such as the last officer/chapter meeting and what was discussed there and future business such as the county fair and the upcoming schooly year.

Beef Jerky Sales Begin!
(04/30/2010)The Lawrenceville FFA is selling beef jerky again! Sticks are for sale for $1 a piece. See any FFA member or go to Mr. Green's room for a delicious treat! FFA members, if you have not already done so, please see Mr. Green to get your jerky to sell as soon as possible.

Section 23 Banquet
(04/19/2010)The Section 23 FFA Banquet will be held on May 13th. There will be food provided and this is when Alex Mahrenholz will present her Secton Officer campaign. The cost to attend is $8. The sign up sheet is on the board in Mr. Green's room. Please sign up and turn in your money by May 3rd. If you have not turned in your money or signed up by this time, you will not be able to attend.
Livestock/Horticlture Judging
(04/19/2010)The Section 23 Livestock Judging and Horticlture Judging competition is on Thursday, April 22nd. The teams have already been choosen by Mr. Green and they will leave the high school at 9am on Thursday and return around 2pm.

(04/16/2010)Elections were held on Wednesday, April 14th. Eight candidates got up and gave their speech on why they believe they should be an officer and every candidate was voted into an office. The new officers will take over on June 1st.

April Chapter Meeting/Officer Elections
(04/05/2010)The April Chapter Meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 14th at 6pm. Officer Elections will be held at this time. Over 50% of our membership must be present at the time of voting. That means over 25 members must attend or elections will not occur. Pizza will be provided, just please attend! New amendments to the Lawrenceville FFA Chapter Constitution will also be voted on at this time.
Senior Graduation Sashes
(03/30/2010)If you are a senior member of the FFA and would like to have a blue or gold graduation sash, representing the FFA, to wear with your gown, please give $20 to Jake Benson or Kody Rich by Thursday, April 1st.
Future Officer Applications
(03/23/2010)For those students wishing to become a FFA Officer for the 2010-2011 school year, please pick up an application from Mr. Green. The application must be completely filled out and turned in by April 1st. The monthly meeting in April will be when members vote on candidates. Chapter Banquet
(03/19/2010)The Lawrenceville FFA will be having our 6th Annual Banquet on March 23rd at 6pm in the West Gym of the school. As part of the Potluck Dinner, each member is asked to bring 2 side dishes or desserts. Awards will be given out and a slideshow of the past year will be presented. Please attend!

(02/20/2010)Lawrenceville FFA chapter president, Jake Benson and chapter reporter, Alex Mahrenholz, recently headed over to the local radio station, WAKO 103.1. A 60-second segement and a 30-second segment were recorded about National FFA week and will be aired from February 20th-February 26th. Tune in and listen for your officer team telling the WAKO listenting area about all the advantages of FFA and help keep the spirit alive by participating this upcoming week.

(10/16/2009)The Land Use CDE was postponed again due to ill weather. The competition will be held on November 4th as of now.

(10/08/2009)The Land Use CDE that was supposed to be held in Mt. Carmel has been cancelled due to the poor weather. No word has been received as to whether it will be resheculed or not.

(09/30/2009)Our chapter is now featured on state FFA site at http://illinoisffa.com/chapchat.asp .Our activities, accomplishments and projects are now easily accessable to any visitors to state site. Check it out! Also, the Land Use CDE is coming up next week. Keep your ears open for any practices or training sessions that may take place for paticipants that signed up.
FFA Homecoming Float

FFA Parade Float
(09/22/2009)The FFA is entering a float in the Lawrenceville Homecoming Parade on Friday. If you would like to ride on the float, please sign up in the ag room or contact Alex Mahrenholz, Mackenzie Hill or Jake Benson by Thursday the 24th. If you choose to ride on the float, you must bring at least one bag of candy to throw to the crowd. Turn in your candy to Mr. Green in his room, Alex Mahrenholz, Jake Benson or Mackenzie Hill.

Cowpie Bingo will be held at the park for the annual Lawrenceville Labor Day Festival on September 5th. One-hundred tickets will be sold at ten dollars per square. You need not be present to win. To purchase a ticket please call Lawrenceville High School at 618-943-3389 or ask any Lawrencville FFA member.

CHAPTER MEETING CHANGE

Officer Forms
(04/02/2009)All interested members who want to become leaders of the FFA have to have all forms turned in by April 3rd 2009. So far we have 7 forms turned in from interested students.
Fundraiser for the Spring
(04/02/2009)The FFA will be selling Flower Bulbs and some Flower sprigs and kits for the Spring. The ending date is set for the 14th of April and the flowers should be in Around the 30th of April.
Lawrenceville FFA take 5th at Quiz Bowl
(02/20/2009)The Lawrenceville FFA tied for 5th place at the Flora Section 23 Quiz Bowl. Zach Crossen was high man with 12 place finish, followed by Eric McClure 17th, and Aubrey Seed 29th. Great Job!!!!

Computers CDE
(10/20/2008)The FFA competed in a computers competition for Section 23. They placed 5th overall with Alex Mahrenholz taking top honors with a 12th place finish. The competition tested them on their knowledge of Power point, Excel, and Word Programs along with a comprehensive knowledge of computers.
Land Use CDE
(10/20/2008)The Land Use CDE took place at Olney during the day. The group placed 12th overall.

Lawrenceville FFA Places 4th at Section 23 Horse Judging Contest
(09/16/2008)The Lawrenceville FFA placed 4th at the Section 23 Horse Judging Contest. The team consisted of Jaeleigh Decker, Katie Sapp, Kelsey Roberts, Jenna Gowen, and Kaylynne Frye. Decker took top honors with an 11th place out of 117 participants.
